ENGAGE... EXPLORE... EXCITE..
The Bakersfield Adventures for the Mind (BAM) is community project focused on building a state of the art interactive educational Children's Museum in Bakersfield, California, as a private/public partnership on the campus of California State University at Bakersfield (CSUB).
The Architectural Firm of Taylor/Teter has been selected to design the facility under the direction of Clay Davis. The nationally known exhibit designer, Reb Haizlip, from Haizlip Studios in Memphis, Tennesse, will lead the exhibit design team with extensive input from local stakeholders.
A construction management firm has been tentatively selected and will be announced pending further negotiations.
BAM is establishing a wide network of education, corporate, and private entities that are committed to seeing a model museum for the children of the community. The Advisory Board is seeking ideas for themed areas and exhibits. Funding opportunities for the planning phase are available for those who would like to be involved in the project from the ground up. Naming opportunities for the construction and exhibit phases will be provided to interested stakeholders in the near future. If you want to contribute ideas or funding support, please contact the museum staff at (661) 327-KIDS.
